Southeastern Louisiana senior Adonson Shallow won the shot put to highlight a day that saw the Lions and Lady Lions combine for 13 top-five finishes in the indoor season opening LSU Purple Tiger Invitational Saturday afternoon at the Carl Maddox Field House. Shallow took the event with a throw of 57 feet, one inch (17.41 meters). The defending Southland indoor champion in the shot put and weight throw also finished second in the weight throw with a throw of 60-5.75 feet (19.41 meters).
