After helping the two-time reigning Southland Conference champion SLU indoor volleyball team remain undefeated, Bennett was named the SLC Defensive Player of the Week. Bennett, a redshirt senior from Prairieville, La., was at least a part of 21 blocks during the eight sets Southeastern played this weekend at the Central Arkansas Invitational where the Lady Lions picked up a pair of 3-1 wins over Little Rock and Central Arkansas. That’s a whopping 2.63 blocks per set average. In Friday’s win over the Trojans, she blocked back nine attacks, three solo, while also getting 11 kills on a .409 attack percentage, scoring a career high 17 points. She followed that up on Saturday with 12 blocks, two solo, with nine kills against the Sugar Bears to end that contest with 16 points while also getting a pair of assists.
