On his way to his second-straight Southland Conference Weight Throw Championship, Terrell Webb took a record that had been held nearly a decade by Southeastern Hall of Famer Alex Young. Webb's first throw of the day went 21.42 meters (70'3.5"), immediately vaulting him into first place and earned him a spot in the Finals, giving him a second set of three throws. It was his fifth throw of the day where Webb etched his name in the SLC history books as that toss traveled 23.62 meters (77'6"), besting the previous SLC Championships record of 21.93 meters set by SLU's lone indoor track & field national champion on Feb. 16, 2016, the same year Young went on to win that NCAA national championship in the weight throw. The throw also moved Webb into seventh-place on the NCAA Division I performance list as he tries to earn an automatic invite to the NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships.
