Williams set a new school record in the 800-meter run at Saturday's Pelican Relays in Baton Rouge. Williams made his mark in the SLU record books in the 800-meter run, crossing the line first in a personal best time of 1:48.64, breaking the 35-year-old Southeastern school record of 1:51.07 set by Jason Perlander back in 1988. Williams's time put him atop the Southland Conference in the discipline and ninth in the East Region, putting him in line to qualify for the regional preliminary meet.
