HOUSTON, Texas – The Southeastern Lady Lions jumped out to a 14-point second-quarter lead but Houston Baptist rallied to pull out a 64-56 Southland Conference victory Saturday evening.
   Southeastern (2-12, 1-2) led 28-14 with 3:09 left in the first half but Houston Baptist (7-7, 2-2) out-scored the Lady Lions 41-26 in the final two quarters to pull out the win.

KaeLynn Boyd led Southeastern with 18 points. She also had six rebounds, five steals and three assists before fouling out with 41 seconds left.
Nanna Pool added 15 points and eight rebounds while Houston native
Dani Fielder contributed seven points and seven rebounds. The Lady Lions shot 31.5 percent for the game.
   Monet Neal had 12 points in the second half to lead Houston Baptist with 18 points. She also had seven rebounds. Amanda Johnson had 11 points off the bench while Anna Strickland had a double-double with 10 points and 17 rebounds. Lisa Zderadicka had seven assists. The Huskies shot 33.3 percent for the game and out-rebounded Southeastern 44-39.
   A Pool jumper gave Southeastern a 27-14 lead with 4:23 left in the second quarter. But Houston Baptist held the Lady Lions to just one free throw by
Kyle Felton and two by Boyd the rest of the half. A Kennedy Collins jumper with 40 seconds left pulled the Huskies to with 30-23 at the half.
   Fielder scored off a Boyd pass to push the Southeastern lead to 37-25 at the 8:05 mark of the third period. But Houston Baptist used a 14-2 run to tie the game at 39 on a Heidi Sihvola 3-pointer with 3:38 left. Another 3 by Amanda Johnson gave the Huskies their first lead at the 3:05 mark. Boyd hit two free throws to put the Lady Lions back up and after a Sihvola layup, Pool drove in with 1:43 left to make it 44-43 going into the fourth quarter.
   Pool gave Southeastern its last lead at 49-48 with a layup with 8:17 left in the game. Zderadicka answered with a layup at the 7:50 mark. Neal gave Houston Baptist a 56-50 lead with 5:09 remaining. A Pool layup cut the margin to three with 3:12 left but the Lady Lions came up empty on its next three possessions.
   A Boyd free throw made it 58-56 with 48 seconds remaining. After a Zderadicka free throw, Strickland grabbed a missed jumper by
Erica Hernandez. Sihvola and Neal then combined on five free throws in the final 32 seconds to seal the win.
   Southeastern got out to a 10-2 lead on a Fielder layup with 5:35 left in the first. Houston Baptist closed to with 10-7 on a Neal jumper with 3:19 left but the Lady Lions closed the quarter on a 7-0 run with a Hernandez 3 and two Boyd free throws giving them a 17-7 lead.
   Houston Baptist trimmed the deficit to 17-13 on a Strickland free throw at the 8:04 mark of the second quarter. But Southeastern answered with a 7-1 run behind a Pool layup and jumpers by
Peaches Anderson and Pool.
   Southeastern returns home to host Lamar Thursday at 7 p.m.
