HAMMOND – Head football coach Mike Lucas and head baseball coach
Jay Artigues will headline a list of coaches participating in the annual Southeastern Louisiana University Coaches' Caravan that holds its annual three-stop tour Aug. 2-3.
The event is sponsored by the Southeastern Louisiana University Alumni Association. Lucas, who was named the 2009 Louisiana Sports Writers Association Coach of the Year, and Artigues, the 2010 LSWA Co-Coach Of The Year, will appear at all three stops.
The first stop is Aug. 2 in Amite with a 6:30 p.m. event at Spitale's Restaurant (208 W. Oak Street). The tour continues on Aug. 3 when it moves to Baton Rouge for a noon event at Superior Grill (5435 Government St.).
The final stop will be later on Tuesday with a 6:30 p.m. event at the Lake House in historic Mandeville (2025 Lakeshore Dr.). The event, which is sponsored by the West St. Tammany Chapter of Southeastern Alumni Association, will feature hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar. Joining Lucas and Artigues at the Mandeville event will be head men's basketball coach Jim Yarbrough and golf coach
Tim Baldwin.
