Webb Jay was a standout in the long jump and the 440-yard relay during his time at Southeastern. In 1968, he set a then-school record with a 24 foot, 6.5 inch jump in the long jump. Jay was also part of a 440-yard relay team that tied the Gulf States Conference record in 1969. He was one of three Lions to participate in the NAIA national championships after the 1967 season.
