Tara Maus was a four-year letter winner for the Lady Lions and one of the most decorated players in Southeastern softball history. In 1991, she became the first female athlete in school history to be named to the GTE/CoSIDA Academic All-American Team, an accomplishment she repeated in 1992.
In her junior season, she was a first team All-Trans America Athletic Conference selection after batting .309 with eight doubles and a .396 slugging percentage. In her senior season, she earned Academic-All American notice from the National Softball Coaches Association (NSCA). Maus also garnered second team All-TAAC and Honorable Mention All-Louisiana honors after batting .300 with eight doubles and 25 RBI.
Maus holds the school's career record for sacrifice flies and finished her career with the record for most consecutive games played at that time.
