Maxie Williams was one of the top offensive linemen in Southeastern history. An All-American as a senior, Williams was named to the Lousiana Sports Writers Associaton’s All-1960's team. Williams was twice named to the All-Gulf States Conference team. He was drafted in the 10th round by the Houston Oilers and played seven years in the NFL, including his final six with the Miami Dolphins.
