Dennis Wagner played for the Lion men’s basketball team during the 1952-53 and 1953-54 seasons. A 1983 Southeastern Athletics Hall of Fame inductee, Wagner was an all-Gulf States Conference selection for the 1953-54 season helping the Lions to a 22-10 record and a spot in the NAIA quarterfinals. In 1952-53 - his first season with the Lions - he averaged 15.6 points per contest. In the 1953-54 campaign, he posted 14.6 points per contest. Over his career, he appeared in 54 games, totaling 810 points for an average of exactly 15 points per game.
