Andy Thiel was a four-year letter winner as a sprinter on the Southeastern track team. Thiel won conference titles as a sophomore in the 100 and 2200yard dashes. That season, he finished 6th in the nation in the 100 yard dash at the NAIA national championships. He later served as track coach at Southeastern from 1981-1986 and helped start the women’s track program during his tenure.
