Adonson Shallow was a two-time All-American during his Lion career that spanned from 2009-11. He was named the South Central Region and Southland Conference Field Athlete of the Year after winning league titles in the hammer throw, shot put and discus. The 2009-10 SLU Male Athlete of the Year was named the Outstanding Field Athlete at both the 2009 and 2010 Southland Conference Indoor Championships, winning the weight throw at both meets and the shot put at the 2010 league competition. He was also the first male in school history to compete in the NCAA Indoor Championships, finishing third at the 2011 national meet in the weight throw, after finishing fourth nationally in the previous year’s outdoor meet. He still holds school records in the indoor (60-02.04) and outdoor (60-11.25) shot put, as well as the outdoor program record in the discus (196-01).
