Outdoor Season Underway for Southeastern Track
LAKE CHARLES – Southeastern Louisiana racked up seven event titles at the McNeese Cowboy Relays, the opening meet for the outdoor track and field season. Five of those came as part of the men’s second place effort, while the women’s team garnered a pair of individual victories en route to a fifth place finish.

Southeastern Falls Short at South Alabama
MOBILE, Ala. – Southeastern Louisiana sophomore Meghan Gomez was 2-for-2 with a run scored, but South Alabama pitcher Beth Pilgrim struck out 13 and held the Lady Lions to three hits, leading the Lady Jaguars to a 5-1 win in non-conference softball action Saturday afternoon at Jaguar Field.

Lions Rally Past UTSA for 10-9 Victory in Southland Opener
HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana junior Joe Sparacino hit a pinch hit three-run home run that keyed a six-run Lion seventh inning and allowed No. 26 Southeastern Louisiana to rally from five runs down for a 10-9 win over UTSA in the Southland Conference opener for both teams Friday night at Alumni Field.

Southeastern Starts Outdoor Campaign at McNeese
HAMMOND – While Adonson Shallow competes for an indoor national championship, his Southeastern Louisiana teammates begin the outdoor season Saturday at the Cowboy Relays in Lake Charles. In addition to host McNeese State, the Lions and Lady Lions will go against Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana-Monroe, Northwestern State and Wiley College.

Lions Fall In Slugfest To Top-Seeded Bearkats, 88-85
KATY, Texas – Joston Crow’s layup with 12.4 seconds remaining snapped an 85-85 tie and Southeastern Louisiana was whistled for a critical turnover on the ensuing possession as top-seeded Sam Houston State rallied to defeat the Lions, 88-85, in the semifinals of the 2010 State Farm Southland Conference Tournament on Thursday at the Merrell Center.

Recorded his 21st career double-double with 24 points and 17 rebounds on Senior Day against Northwestern State on Saturday … moved past former Lion Dick Sharp into eighth-place on the school’s all-time scoring list (currently has 1,252 points) … was a perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line and blocked five shots to increase his school-record season total to 94 … scored 13 points, grabbed seven rebounds and blocked three shots in a home victory over McNeese State.
